A preliminary conceptual building design and floor plan for the New Museum for the City of Whiting was developed, based on input from a team of committees. The 3-story building, approximately 25,000 sq. ft., has rooms allocated for exhibits, offices, workshops, archives, research, and a gift shop. The building will also include an observation area on the top floor, offering scenic views of the lakefront and park. The new museum will be located at 119th and Front Streets, just minutes away from the Whiting Lakefront.
