Vavrek Architects was presented with an "Investor Award" at the Whiting-Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce installation dinner on February 26. The award recognizes Tom's accomplishment in 2009 for the rehabilitation of his office building and the addition of new retail space. The building is located at 1522 119th Street in downtown Whiting. Tom purchased the building in Sept. 2008 and has successfully managed to carry out extensive renovations to both the interior and exterior, acquiring a new tenant in the process.
